Our Story

A Florida studio shaped by saltmarsh, oak and afternoon rain.

Hayco Lawn & Landscape Studio started in 2011 out of a single pickup and an empty lot on Willis Ave. Today, founder Peter Blackburn leads a small crew of horticulturists, irrigation techs and stone masons who genuinely care about the yards they're standing in.

We don't push trendy plants that fight Florida's climate. We work with the heat, the sandy soil and the heavy summer storms — using natives, hardy ornamentals and smart irrigation so your yard looks good in July and not just March.

Kind Words

From neighbors we still see at the grocery store.

★★★★★
"Peter quoted exactly what he charged. The crew shows up the same time every Thursday and our yard has never looked better — even after that rough hurricane summer."
Marlene D.San Marco
★★★★★
"We had three other landscapers out for an estimate. Hayco was the only one who actually walked the back fence and noticed the drainage issue. Two years in and the new beds still look great."
Jordan R.Mandarin
★★★★★
"They redid our front entry with native plants and a small paver path. Neighbors keep asking who we used. Fair price, no upsell, and they cleaned up better than we expected."

Service Area

Where we work.

We stay close to home. Keeping our radius tight is how we keep the same crew on your property every week and arrive on time, every time.

FAQ

Questions we get a lot.

Do you offer one-time clean-ups or only recurring service?

Both. Recurring weekly lawn care is most of our work, but we regularly take on one-time spring cleanups, hurricane prep, post-storm haul-outs and seasonal mulching.

How do estimates work?

A site visit is free and on us. We don't quote sight-unseen because Jacksonville lots vary too much — pin oaks, irrigation history and soil all matter. You'll get a written, itemized proposal within five business days.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We carry general liability and workers' comp on every crew member. Certificates of insurance can be sent to your HOA or property manager on request.

What kinds of plants do you recommend?

We lean heavily on Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ principles. That means natives like muhly grass, simpson stopper, saw palmetto and live oak, mixed with proven non-natives that thrive in zone 9a humidity.

Do you work with HOAs and property managers?

Often. We currently maintain several HOA common areas and small commercial properties around Southside and Mandarin. We can invoice monthly and provide service logs.

What payment methods do you accept?

Check, ACH, and all major credit cards. Recurring customers can set up automatic monthly billing.
